Ben joined Dexter Rural Fire Protection District in December 2024 as part of the Resident Firefighter Program. A 2022 graduate of the University of Oregon, Ben holds a bachelor’s degree in journalism. He earned his EMT certification in March 2025 and is currently attending paramedic school to further advance his skills and training.

As a resident firefighter, Ben lives at the station, responds to fire and EMS calls, and participates in ongoing training and community events.
